Qualifications:
High School diploma required - Associate's degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred Successful BCII and FBI background checks Experience in payroll processing and entry, bookkeeping, governmental accounting, recordkeeping Experience with USPS-R and USAS-R accounting system software preferred Proficient in computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, database and presentations Proficient in written and oral communication Able to meet deadlines, perform duties with accuracy, and be dependable in attendance Flexibility and willingness to assume new duties and responsibilities as necessary Able to maintain confidentiality of privileged information Work cooperatively with staff and promote a professional image Familiarity with Affordable Care Act requirements
Responsibilities:
Process payroll in compliance with IRS regulations, state statutes, state auditor guidelines, board policy and negotiated agreements Calculate and balance time sheets and prepare supplemental payment and other spreadsheets Maintain sick, personal, vacation and other leave records Process and maintain salary notices, contracts, and employee payroll records Process pay period, monthly, quarterly, annual payroll reports including W-2's Process deductions, retirement plan contributions, fringe benefits, payroll tax reports and payments Prepare workers compensation and unemployment compensation reports Maintain staff EMIS data Prepare payroll accruals necessary for GAAP reporting Maintain enrollment information for employee medical insurances including COBRA Execute all payroll and personnel resolution items as directed by the Board of Education Communicate effectively with employees, colleagues, representatives from other agencies, parents and the public Evaluate current methods of data processing, etc.
to maintain efficient operations and to maximize the benefit of the software Use Excel, Word and other software to most efficiently carry out daily duties Be able to work as necessary to meet deadlines Transport bank deposits Prepare and submit electronic reports as necessary Participate in professional growth opportunities as directed Cross train to provide backup support where needed Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Treasurer Reports to:
